Cosmic BanditosHow to start my description of this book? Well, first
off I suppose I should warn you that it is practically impossible to find as
it is out of print (NO LONGER!!! GO GET
ONE!!!). Also you should know that A.C. Weisbecker seems to be a nom de
plume (although recent information indicates that might not be true)(in fact
even more recent information indicates that that is a blatant lie, and A.C.
Weisbecker is, in fact a real person), and as far as I know he has never produced
another book (again, hopefully changing soon). In addition, I'm not sure that
this book can really be classified as science fiction, as it is about the life
of a drug runner who is deeply interested in quantum physics.
Now then, all disclaimers aside, why the heck is this book on the list? Well, primarily because it is one of the coolest books that I have ever read. While it is not strictly science fiction, I believe that the type of person who enjoys science fiction will probably enjoy Cosmic Banditos, even if they don't come to love the book quite as much as I do.
For years, Sven and I used to go into just about every used bookstore we can find trying desperately to find a copy. I would recommend to anyone who is reading this list that you do the same - this book is definitely worth it. Sven ultimately stumbled across one in a little book store in North Carolina, and I tracked one down on the Internet - gotta love modern technology.
