I believe the first two members of this trilogy won, respectively, the Nebula and the Hugo, and if the pattern holds and Blue Mars, which was just published, wins the Nebula then three consecutive books with "Mars" in their title will have won the Nebula (Greg Bear's Moving Mars won in 1994).
